Following the completion of the didactic program in dietetics (DPD), students are qualified to apply to ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internships, which is required to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians.  Students who have completed the UT DPD program, but have not yet completed the requirements to become RDs hold the following positions:

  • WIC Nutritionist
  • Community Health Volunteer, Peace Corps
  • Dietetic Technician, Seaton family of Hospitals
  • Nutritionist, Simply Fit Meals
  • QA Analyst, Alcon Laboratories, Inc
  • Chief Nutritionist/Account Executive, Weightlogix Advanced Institute of Lifestyle and Non-surgical Weight Loss
  • Kitchen Manager, Mainspring School
  • Dietetic Technician, Pharmaceutical Product Development
  • Nutritionist, Mels Meals
  • Nutrition Services Specialist, Sysco Corporation
  • Bilingual Nutritional Educator, Capital Area Food Bank

Students who have completed the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) are eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians upon graduation.  Upon passing this examination, these RDs hold a number of positions in the areas of 

  • Healthcare - hospitals, outpatient, long-term care
  • Foodservice - schools, hospital foodservice, university foodservice
  • Community - public health programs, wellness and health promotion
  • Private practice - client counseling, public speaking, writing for the public, menu planning, recipe development
