This week the Department of Nutritional Sciences is pleased to welcome Dr. Corby Martin PhD, FTOS. 

Dr. Martin is a Professor and Director of the Ingestive Behavior, Weight Management, & Health Promotion Laboratory at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, which is part of the Louisiana State University System. Dr. Martin also Directs the Human Phenotyping Core of the Center’s NIH-funded Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC). Dr. Martin completed his undergraduate degree and a Master’s degree in psychology at Eastern Washington University and his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Louisiana State University. Dr. Martin then completed his Pre-doctoral Internship as well as a Post-doctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Since the completion of his fellowship in 2002, he has been a faculty member at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Dr. Martin has received various awards during his training and he was the recipient of the Lilly Scientific Achievement Award in 2013 and became a Fellow of The Obesity Society in 2015. Dr. Martin’s research program focuses on the study of energy balance, and includes developing novel methods to quantify food intake behaviors and intervene to promote patients’ health.

His talk is titled Leveraging the measurement of eating-related behaviors to manage body weight and improve diet quality while fostering sustainability”.
