After living in New York City and working in the fashion industry for 15 years, Amy returned to her home state of Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Textiles
and Apparel Design and a Psychology concentration.

After college, Amy lived in Paris for a year, assisting in the creation of upscale, one-of-a-kind corsets in the Haseltine atelier. During her career in NYC, she designed for numerous womenswear lines, mostly in the mass market sector. She was a Senior Designer for brands such as Simply Vera Vera Wang, Ellen Tracy, Daisy Fuentes, Juicy Couture for Kohl’s, Libby Edelman, and Dear Drew.  Aside from establishing seasonal concepts and designing for the lines, these positions entailed traveling overseas to do fabric research and product development with vendors, organizing fashion shows, attending photo shoots, meeting with buyers, and ensuring proper fit and aesthetic for production.

Amy has been enjoying the opportunity to teach TXA students and to share her industry experiences with them.
