facilitated by faculty with career development education.
 
You will develop a deeper awareness of self, others, and the world while
learning to make effective decisions about your education, career, and life.

Don't delay and start the series as a freshman, no matter what type of career you are pursuing!

A DEGREE REQUIREMENT!

HDFS students have been required to take HDF 340 for their degree,
but this course is phasing out for the H E 101P, 102P, & 103P coursework.
  *HDF 340 & the HE 101P series may not both be counted.
 TXA students will also be required to take the H E 101P, 102P, & 103P coursework for their degree.
Incoming HDFS & TXA students are encouraged to start this coursework series now.

This course series is open to ALL students across campus, and great for anyone that 
would like to create a career preparation plan to begin your post-grad career with greater success!

  • Identify and articulate your top strengths and transferable skills  
  • Learn job search strategies and interviewing techniques to secure an internship 
  • Create a high-impact resume, coupled with supporting job search communication skills  
  • Create an "elevator pitch" to present your ideas in a clear and concise manner 
  • Gain an understanding of the nature and value of networking and marketing oneself 
  • Understand the importance of professionalism, attitude, and accountability and how it can affect career and professional success
