About Sheldon Ekland-Olson
In addition to being director of the School of Human Ecology and head of the Division of Textiles and Apparel, Dr. Ekland-Olson is currently serving as the Audre and Bernard Rapoport Centennial Chair in Liberal Arts in the Department of Sociology and as the director of the Division of Statistics and Scientific Computation in the College of Natural Sciences.
Ekland-Olson served as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts from 1993 to 1998 and Provost of the university from 1998 to 2006. He joined the faculty of the University in 1971 after earning his PhD in Sociology and Law from the University of Washington and Yale Law School.
