Teodoro Bottliglieri, Ph.D., director of neuropharmacology and associate professor of biomedical studies at Baylor University Medical Center, will present a talk titled “Inborn Errors of Neurotransmitter Metabolism: Diagnosing Pediatric Neurotransmitter Diseases” as part of the on-going speaker series in the Department of Nutritional Sciences.

Bottliglieri earned a Masters and Doctorate in neurochemistry from the University of London. His research program focuses on understanding the role of methylation, folate, vitamin B12 and homocysteine metabolism in the central nervous system. The research conducted in his laboratory has application to many disease states, including diagnosis of in-born errors of metabolism, vascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and depression.
