Have you found yourself running out of recipes during quarantine? The dietetic students from the University of Texas at Austin have you covered. They have created a 70+ page donation-based e-cookbook titled Food: For the Love of Community. Their goal with this cookbook was to provide easy, accessible, and fun recipes for everyone to try and enjoy. In it, you will find:

All 20 of the dietetic students contributed their favorite recipes to this cookbook. It's designed with all cooking levels in mind and most meals can be prepared in 20 minutes or less. It includes options for breakfast, main dishes, salads, sides, and desserts as well as vegetarian/vegan options. In addition to the delicious and multicultural recipes the e-cookbook also includes nutrition tips such as different cooking methods, grocery shopping guides, strategies for using leftovers, and guidance on healthy living.

The e-cookbook is available until August 10th and we are asking donors to pay what they can (a donation of $20 is suggested) for the 70+ page resource.

Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Class of 2020

Donors will have the option to choose between two very deserving nonprofits, the Central Texas Food Bank or Diversify Dietetics. The Central Texas Food Bank provides food and support for Central Texas families in need, and Diversify Dietetics strives to increase representation in the dietetics field by encouraging and empowering students of color to pursue a career in the field of nutrition. The students selected these two organizations because as future nutrition professionals they want to address the urgent need around access to healthy food for our community as well as encourage and support diversity in their new profession. These organizations align with the students' mission which is to nourish people's minds, bodies, and souls through nutritious foods and inclusive and diverse care.
