Hannah Berendzen is a doctoral student in Human Development and Family Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research centers around adverse childhood experiences in populations that are disproportionately at-risk. Moving forward, Hannah is interested in strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches to alleviating disciplinary disparities in schools. Hannah is passionate about using research as a tool for child advocacy through evidence-based programs and policies. 

Hannah is currently a member of the Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) Executive Board. She believes it is a privilege to represent her fellow students and aims to do so accurately and sensitively. Prior to her appointment as Vice President in February 2022, Hannah served as the External Affairs Director. In this role she worked with the Student Advocates for Graduate Education coalition to help build a national platform on graduate student concerns related to sustainability, affordable housing and childcare, and COVID-19 safety.
