Research Interests
Edward Anderson’s research centers on the following questions: (1) how does parental repartnering after divorce affect children and family relationships? (2) how are parenting practices affected by the transition into new romantic relationships after divorce? (3) how do children influence the repartnering process for divorced parents? (4) how is the development of children affected by involvement in high-conflict contested custody cases after divorce? and (5) how can interventions such as parenting coordination deter divorcing families from becoming involved in high conflict? Dr. Anderson uses multi-method, multi-informant longitudinal studies to address these questions.
