Ockhee Bego teaches a variety of upper and lower division courses in Textiles and Apparel to freshman through  seniors. She is also the adviser to the University Fashion Group on campus and the director of the Annual UT Austin Senior Designer's Fashion Show.
Before her academic career, Bego was a fashion industry professional and business entrepreneur as an apparel designer, couturier, garment producer and retail merchandiser.  For decades, she was involved in the apparel industry, producing products and working in retail and merchandise, operating businesses in the United States, Europe and Asia, and consulting with apparel companies. She also has significant experience in producing, coordinating, organizing, and managing fashion shows, both locally and internationally, and was involved in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. 

Bego has extensive education in the textiles and apparel fields, including textile sciences, customer relations, retail merchandising and business marketing.

Finished one of her books, Drafting Basic Sloper & Patterns for Fashion Apparel Designers, and is currently working on the publication of this book.
