Stephen Russell will present a talk titled “Understanding and Supporting LGBTQ Youth Mental Health” as part of the on-going speaker series in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences.

Dr. Russell is the Distinguished Professor and Fitch Nesbitt Endowed Chair in the Division of Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona. Russell’s research is focused on examining the cultural differences in parent-adolescent relationships and the implications for adolescent adjustment and on family economic stress and how it shapes parent-child relationships in the transition from adolescence to young adulthood – including the implications for risk behaviors such as substance use and abuse.
